Tiger Cubs Spoiler Review
I started watching this drama because of them appearing at the end of Highs and Lows. A lot of the reviews I read after watching the drama mentioned Tiger Cubs and I was completely lost on what they meant. So I went and started watching to see what the hype was all about.
I love all the guys in SDU so much! Of course, I have my certain few that I keep an eye out for more than others. Sadly, all the guys that caught my eye were pretty minorish characters. Cheung Kai-kwong was one of them. His sweet nature in the series is so adorable and he is totally drool status. My runner ups would have to be Tse Kar-sing and Yu Hok-lai (ah lai or Him Law wasn’t a minor but he’s one of the only ones in the major character list on my Let-Me-Rape-You-Please List). asdfghjkl. No words to describe. Compliments to TVB for putting so many amazingly cute guys in one series.
Anyways, back to the actual series. It was a slow start for me. I wasn’t really interested in the first few crimes. It was kind of strange having every case start and end in about one to two episodes since each episode was about 65 - 70 minutes and there were only 13 episodes. I really started getting into it in the middle and late episodes when my feels for all the characters kicked in and I got use to the crimes being solved so quickly.
The scenarios and occasional hand to hand combat scenes were really well done. I enjoyed them all immensely and they all looked surprisingly realistic. I’ve always had a love for crime series and this can easily be on my top favorites with the nice production and cute guys.
Out of all the scenes, there are two that I loved and hated. One of them was when ah Hin died. What the heck. It was horrendous how To Tin-yu and Yiu Mei-ling killed ah Hin. How they made ah To watch was crazy. The scene was really nicely done though. I had so many feels. The second was when ah To jumped in the ocean with To Tin-yu to save everyone else from the bomb. I seriously thought he died, but he came back up and I was all screaming and crying and going crazy and it was amazing.
The ships in the series mang. Omg. Ah Yuen and Wai Wai are so cute together. Ah Yuen is such a good boyfriend/husband material! It was so cute in the last episode when they were video chatting on the phone and she was like “Bye BB!” Omg, they are so cute. And also after the chat, the team was making fun of him and he was all like a man should cook, clean, and do laundry when you love your women. Perfect man right there!
Ah To and Ah Wah were obviously meant to be. You could see it in the early episodes after Ah To and Wai Wai didn’t work out. Ah To character is so cute. He is the typical guy who is great at his job but bad at confessing his feelings to girls. I thought it was adorable how in the last episode when he was about to propose and there was a terrorist attack that messed it up. Ah Wah knew it was coming and was looking forward to it too!
The last one is Ah Lai and Ah Keung. I love this match the most out of three. I felt they had such good chemistry though out the series. Especially when Ah Lai helped Ah Keung overcome her fear of heights. They are so cute. You know if there is a sequel their relationship would become offical. I love their personalities together. It’s just so cute.
Overall, I really enjoyed this series. I feel people who enjoy crime/police series would really enjoy this one but it really depends on the person. I’ve always loved Joe Ma as an actor and I’ve really enjoyed all the other amazingly cute men. I would definitely watch a sequel!
